“Razzle dazzle” is an English idiom for a spectacular spectacle with a stunning effect. This combination is often used in connection with advertising or fashion, when it comes to attracting attention with the help of purposeful impressive effects. Examples of such “razzle dazzle” can be the cubist conception of allegorical chariots by Russian avant-gardists as part of the festivities after the coup in Russia or the camouflage of American ships during World War I, when the form of geometric abstraction simulated ship waves. From a stylistic point of view, this is an interesting phenomenon, when avant-garde solutions anticipated acceptance by the artistic mainstream.
